Set Up IP Address Restrictions for Web Clocking Follow
If you’d like to give your employees the ability to clock in using a web browser and want some assurance that they are only clocking in from an approved network, such as at the office. Then, setting up IP Address Restrictions is the feature for you. Once configured, update the employee profiles to only allow web clocking from approved addresses.
Notes:
- This feature is designed to be used with uAttend's browser-based clocking feature.
- Employee permissions must be adjusted to complete this process.
- Use the public IPv4 address, not the private or IPv6 address, for IP address restrictions.
To configure an IP address restriction for the web portal:
- Log in to the uAttend cloud portal with an administrator profile.
- Click on the Settings tab.
- Click the Clocking Management tab.
- Click the Add IP Address button in the IP Addresses section.
- Enter the first 2 segments of the public IP Address for the intended network to be used when clocking. These should automatically fill in with the Public IP of the network you are currently on.
- If you are unsure of your Public IP address, you can Google "What's my IP address".
- Enter a Name.
- Click the ADD button.
