Daily vs Weekly Overtime Follow
uAttend allows you to calculate overtime in two ways: Daily Overtime and Weekly Overtime. Both serve to track extra hours worked, but they apply in different situations and are configured separately.
Daily Overtime
- Tracks overtime on a day-by-day basis.
- Begins once an employee exceeds a set number of hours in a single day (By Hours Worked) or during specific hours of the day (By Hour of the Day).
- Configured at the department level, but always applied from the employee's home department.
- Can use two pay codes: OT1 and OT2, with optional multipliers for overtime rates.
- Useful when you want to track extra hours each day, regardless of weekly totals.
Weekly Overtime
- Tracks overtime over the course of a week.
- Begins once an employee exceeds a weekly hours threshold (for example, after 40 hours).
- Also configured at the department level, always applied from the employee's home department.
- Takes priority over Daily Overtime if both rules are in place.
- Can use OT1 and OT2 pay codes with optional multipliers.
- Useful when you want to track overtime only after weekly totals are exceeded, ignoring small daily fluctuations.
